Lamarcus Franklin

Bio

In 2024 Coach Franklin entered into his 17th year of coaching which includes stints at Morning Side College, Sioux City Iowa; Liberty Eylau- Texarkana; Texarkana High School; and the past 4 years here at DeSoto High. During his coaching career Coach Franklin has gained 5 state titles with 3 back-to-back state track titles at Liberty-Eylau 2009-2011, as well as 2 back-to- back titles here at DeSoto and on track for a three peat this fall. Coach Franklin has coached DB’s, WR’s, QB’s, Special Teams Coordinator, and Athletic Coordinator throughout his career. While here at DeSoto he has won a state championship coaching on both sides of the ball as the Corner’s Coach (2021-2023), and QB’s Coach (2023-present). Coach Franklin has also helped to produce a number of top athletes in the nation who have gone on to compete on the professional level, and helped to develop a lot of collegiate talent. This past summer Coach Franklin took over as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coordinator for DeSoto High working with all sports, ensuring that our athletes are in ready to compete on a high-level day in and day out and helping to develop the champion mindset into all student-athletes.
Coach LaMarcus Franklin former Texas High School Football Champion and 1st Team All-State Player ’99 (QB/DB), and Northwestern State University (Football/ Track) and Arena Football player.
